Like so often in my never ending life I was bored. Not the 'I-have-nothing-to-do-so-what-do-I-do-now' sort of bored, nor the 'bored-out-of-my-mind' bored. No, I was bored to death! If I could die that is…

Light, the most amusing human I'd ever met, was in prison and Rem the best-to-annoy Shinigami was dead.

Why did she have to give her life for that annoying blonde girl anyway? I never liked that particular human. She was too dumb for my taste. I preferred clever beings.

They were at least entertaining. And now, that Misa brought my number one human into prison, I hated her. Especially because she always forgot to give me apples! I already had withdrawal symptoms!

Light had never forgotten to give me apples. Even after he'd given up on being Kira.

"Ryuk shinigami-san?"

I turned around as I suddenly heard my name uttered by a familiar voice. I was surprised because it was a voice that normally never talked to me, because the human whom it belonged to hadn't had touched a Death Note, meaning they hadn't been able to see me. But now they, no, he was.

"What do you want? Hyuk, hyuk, hyuk!" meaning 'What is your plan to get Light out?'

Surprised that I knew what he wanted? Well, I wasn't as stupid as I always liked to pretend I am. I mean, life isn't as funny when people don't try to explain things you already know time and time again while you laugh your ass off, because they sound so stupid. Hilarious!

"What would Ryuk shinigami-san do for a life time supply of the best apples one can get?"

That sounded good. Very good indeed! Especially now that I was starving on apples.

The black haired detective who called himself L smiled and I realized that I'd begun to drool. It seemed that fact was answer enough for the genious because he began to talk again.

"We would like Ryuk-san to place evidence that Misa Amane is Kira in her apartment, meaning that Ryuk-san has to steal her Death Note and bring it here. Then it would be helpful if he added a fake rule in the note that we already have in custody. I will make sure Ryuk-san gets his life time supply of the best apples one can buy. And not only my and Light's life, but also our child's life long. Ryuk-san knows that I can arrange that."

I smiled. Of course I would help! I would even do it without the apples. But of course I'd never admit that.

So I merely said "For the apples! Hyuk, hyuk, hyuk!"
